The Black Watch(Royal Highlanders) Officer's post 1902 glengarry badge
A very good example of this Officer's glengarry badge(post 1902-37.
The Star of the Order of the Thistle and the Cross of St Andrew in silver form the background with a wreath of thistles surrounding a quoit inscribed "NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT" with the Sphinx below and the King's crown above,all in superb rich gilt with to the seeded centre,in silver,St Andrew with the Cross.
To the left of the Crown is a scroll inscribed"THE ROYAL" with one to the right inscribed"HIGHLANDERS".
To the left of the sphinx is a scroll inscribed"BLACK " with one to the right inscribed "WATCH".
To the rear 2 original silvered lugs and a long silver pin secures the front devices.
This badge is of immense quality.
