The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders Victorian Officer's Dirk
A truly excellent Dirk in superb condition. I trust that the photographs will do this magnificent item Justice.
Made by the Bond Street firm of "STULZ PAPE & SON"
A large cairngorm is set in the hand grip and 2 smaller ones in the knife and fork.
A nice feature to look out for is the carved crossed broadswords and feather bonnet at the back of the grip.
The front side of the blade is engraved with The Victorian Crown and the title of the Regiment beneath which is above The Sphinx upon a tablet inscribed "EGYPT"
On the other side is again an excellent Victorian Crown with the initials "VR" beneath. Nearer the hilt is etched the Makers details.
There is a tiny amount of pitting near the tip of the blade of the dirk and also the knife.
This excellent dirk is of the highest quality
