The King's Own Scottish Borderers Officer's HM silver glengarry badge
An absolutely delightful silver glengarry badge to this proud Regiment,bearing assaye marks for Birmingham 1911.
On a thistle wreath The Cross of St Andrew.within the wreath,a quoit fretted and inscribed "KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS" with a smaller fretted banner above inscribed"IN VERITATE RELIGIONIS CONFIDO" with the King's Crown and the Lion above.
At the bottom is a banner inscribed"NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA"
To the centre is the Castle .
To the rear 2 solid silver lugs. Impressed on the back of the castle are the maker's marks "J& Co" and the assaye marks for B'ham 1911.

translates as " I PUT MY TRUST IN THE TRUTH OF RELIGION"
whilst "NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA" translates as "WITHOUT THE LORD, EVERYTHING IS IN VAIN"
